The Cambridge English: First (FCE) course aims to help students understand intermediate and upper intermediate levels of English, demonstrate independent study skills and take internationally recognised exams.
The FCE course begins with a placement test and orientation, during which students are introduced to the FCE exam and to their student peers.
The Cambridge English: First (FCE) course includes the following lessons:
- Vocabulary lessons such as ‘Entertainment Vocabulary’ and ‘Adjectives of Feeling
- Listening lessons such as ‘Sentence Completion’ and ‘Interview Strategies’
- Speaking lessons such as ‘Comparing’ and ‘Language for Agreeing and Disagreeing’
- Grammar lessons such as ‘Time Expressions’
- Writing lessons such as ‘Informal Emails’ and ‘Editing for Register’
- Skill integration lessons such as a ‘Speaking Skills’ that combines vocabulary from the reading, grammar
and vocabulary lessons

Home to one of the world's most famous and prestigious universities, Cambridge has long been a key study destination. Our school offers students the chance to study in a place that has produced 14 British Prime Ministers, nearly 100 Nobel Prize winners and countless other public figures. St Giles Cambridge has an enviable location, just minutes from the railway station, within easy walking distance of the city centre and trains to London only take an hour.
It was a two weeks course. The school is in a good place, near of downtown, and the teachers are very kind. It´s a small school, and in the dates that i have gone, June, the social activities are limited because frequently there is not enough people interested. Anyway, it has been a very good experience

These homes are often between 10 - 40 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.
If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged £ 40 when you register.
