If you want to learn English in one of the most historically-significant cities in history, then look no further than an English school in Southampton. Rich in history, Southampton offers much to explore once your classes are over – lots of museums, a visit to the longest stretch of surviving medieval wall in England, innovative art galleries, theatre, music performances in all styles. There's also football, hockey, rugby and cricket to be seen, and many other opportunities to keep yourself in shape – Southampton was named ‘fittest city in the UK' in 2006. If you feel like a calmer sort of after-school activity, consider taking a walk in the New Forest (which is pretty old now) where you're almost certain to come across the famous Forest ponies that run free there most of the year and aren't shy of coming up very close to strangers.
