Thorpe Cloud is the limestone hill that separates the villages of Thorpe and Ilam at the southern end of Dovedale. It is a popular destination for hikers as it gives an impressive view from its top. St. Leonard’s Church is another interesting site with its Norman tower and its Norman nave. Students taking English courses in Thorpe should be sure to visit the Peak National District Park. The area is a popular tourist destination as it offers a good range of public access and outdoor recreation to its visitors.
