Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying Spanish in Salamanca. These homes are often between 25 - 50 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. Your housing starts on the Sunday before your first day of class and ends on the Saturday after your last day of class, unless otherwise noted. Learn more about homestay housing
Student residences are more suitable for an independent student, who is looking for clean, basic accommodation at an economic price. All students must be 18+. Your housing starts on the Sunday before your first day of class and ends on the Saturday after your last day of class, unless otherwise noted. Student residences often do not include any meal plan. Estudio Sampere Salamanca is located in the historic city center, just a 5-minute walk from the Plaza Mayor. This school is famous for its friendly atmosphere, and consists of seven classrooms equipped with digital blackboards, and comfortable facilities. We also have a multi-use room with a projector for cultural activities, lectures, cooking classes and more.
Each classroom is equipped with air conditioning and heating. Students may borrow books, CDs and DVDs, tailored to their Spanish level from our library for free. We have computers with internet access available for our students, as well as WI-FI for them to use their own devices.
We offer cultural activities from Mondays to Thursdays, and day excursions on Saturdays. Students will find all relevant information on our bulletin boards. Students may also get a free newspaper edited by the University, which is updated every Monday, and receive information about the city’s cultural agenda.
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
The school is located in the city center, and is therefore surrounded by historical buildings, such as the Palacio de Fonseca. It is a quiet, pedestrian neighborhood where students can walk safely. It also boasts many cafés, shops, restaurants, gift shops/newsstands, less than one minute from the school premises.
We are located just minutes from the Pontifical University, the Casa de las Conchas (public library), the historical building of the University of Salamanca, the Cathedrals, the Plaza Mayor, the Rúa Mayor, and
many more sights and points of interest.
THE CITY
Salamanca is the quintessential University City, one of the safest cities in Europe, and home to a great cultural offer throughout the year, mostly for free. The Plaza Mayor is the heart of the city and there, you will find people day and night “under the clock” (meeting point for all people and students). You can enjoy an artisan ice cream at the “Novelty” cafeteria, or a chocolate with churros at the “Valor” chocolaterie, while having an interesting chat with other students.
If you like History, we recommend strolling through the city’s main street, or Rua Mayor, where you will find typical local souvenirs, such as the Charro Buttons, University t-shirts, and “frogs”. It is also the only street in the city where all stores open every day of the week.
