"Nice, but not what I signed up for"

Aline Baumgartner, student from Switzerland

I paid and expected 2 weeks of training for the Cambridge Proficiency exam. Unfortunately the teacher was sick during the first week and our substitute was not used to teaching students on CPE level and therefore I sadly did not learn anything relevant for my CPE test during the first week. I did like the teacher and the peers but as I said, that was not what I paid for, after all I signed up to prepare for CPE. The second week where the original teacher was back was very helpful but I was lacking experience which I hoped to get in the first week. I did buy some additional CPE books for training but I guess I will fail the test (I had it on the 9th of June) and would have feeled more prepared if I hade done all the parts (we only did reading and writing in the 2nd week) if I had done every part of the exam at least once with tips from a teacher.

"Unforgettable"

Sarah Valls Lozano, student from Afghanistan

The environment at the school was so comfortable that it wasn't hard to get up in the mornings to go to class. First and foremost, teachers make a great effort to help the students and make the classes more enjoyable. Moreover, you make friends from all over the world and not just from your class.

"The teachers are excellent, I could really improve in a very short time."

Sonja Widmer, student from Switzerland

I had a wonderful time in london. even though I did not choose the best moment of the year as there was a bank holiday when I arrived. travelling was fast and easy. I had to ask for the way to my host family's house, but people are very friendly and helpful. once there, I liked my room; it had all I would have asked for. 'my' family gave me a warm welcome. they were nice, friendly and I felt at home. my landlady is a marvelous cook, so I have nothing to complain.
the school is well equiped, and the teachers extremely skilled. i was the oldest there by far (i knew that before, but i wanted to be in a proficiency class), i got along well with my fellow students the age of my children! i tried to make the most of it, but the time given was short!

"An interesting new adventure"

Katharina Barbara Sauder, student from Switzerland

My host mother was very kind and interested in my well-being. I could tell her all my worries and concerns and I appreciate her kindness. My class was alright. It was a bit boring sometimes but that is due to the level where you mostly just have to learn vocabulary and read complex articles. The location of the school and the location of my homestay where perfect. I didn't really participate in any activities, so I can't tell you anything about that.
The lady from Language International was very kind, eplained all the things to me and found a perfect family.
I can't complain at all. I would always do it again :)

"I liked You"

Maciej Kaproń, student from Poland

I have to say I liked my time at Kaplan, although on the first day the introduction for rookies was far too long for my taste. The teachers with whom had lessons were very competent knew what the were doing. The atmosphere in class was very good and I liked my classmates. I would advise a bit more of pronounciation classes. But besides that everything was alright. Also the classrooms themselves were nice.

Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from Kaplan International. Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged £ 40 when you register.

Ask a question

"I have a prospective student from France who would like to study at Kaplan International College: London, Leicester Square. The student's level is "beginner" and is below the minimum required level of "elementary" required to join the course below. Can you make an exception and accept our student into the program? Alternatively, do you have a placement test that we can ask the student to fill out to accurately determine his level?"

We do not have availability in Nido Kings cross for the requested period. However, we do have a new residence in Kings Cross; Urbanest, which is available. I have received special permission for us to accept your client in our Covent Garden school, given that we are not offering beginners at Russell Square. Please note that the school is officially full for that period though, so I have actually had to provisionally book your client in to ensure that he has a space.
