The host are located in Nantes and surrounding areas.
I was placed near Tours, not Nantes. The easiest way for everyone was for me to fly from the UK to Paris, then get a direct train to Tours. Nantes Airport would have been inappropriate as it was two and a half hours away from my host family. This was not explained to me, but to be fair, mine was a very late booking having been let down by another organisation. The classes were well prepared and relevant.
The teacher, my hostess, was good at explaining everything. The location was great, near to the two castles we visited, and the accommodation amazing. The family treated me like one of their own, and really put themselves out for me, treating me to locally sourced home cooked food.
I had my own bathroom facilities. I asked to be taken to the shops as one of my activities, as I wanted books in French for me and presents to take home, and this was readily complied with. A few days into the visit, the area rep phoned me to check how everything was going, and spoke both English and French without an accent.
As an overall impression, I would certainly book with this organisation again. I had a really good study holiday and my standard of French improved as I can now understand most conversations at naturally spoken speed, which I couldn’t do before. Thank you.
