Course description

The course is divided into 8 separate compulsory modules along with 6 selective ones as outlined below:

Compulsory Modules

Module 1: TESOL Methods
Module 2: Language Learning and Technology
Module 3: Developing Researcher Competence
Module 4: Teaching and Learning Online
Module 5: Teaching Language to Young Learners
Module 6: Syllabus and Materials Design
Module 7: Language Assessment
Module 8: Practice
Summative Task (Research/Dissertation/Written Assignment)

Selective Modules

Module 1: Teaching World Englishes
Module 2: English for Tourism
Module 3: Medical English
Module 4: English for Oil and Gas
Module 5: Business English
Module 6: English for Engineering

Most of the modules require 20 hours, some require 30 hours and only couple of them require 50 hours of study. The summative task is a research-based dissertation which generally requires about 20 hours to finish. Therefore, the course is expected to take around 250 hours to complete.

Class schedule may change depending on availability and season.

Advanced
You will take a placement test on your first day to determine your class level. You may also take this test before your arrival in Baku.

A certificate of completion will be issued at the end of the course.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged $10 when you register.

Flights and airport transfer

Please note that we do not book flights for our students. If you are researching airfare costs, we recommend using Kayak.com, a search engine that lets you compare flight options from your home country to Baku based on your budget, schedule and preferences.

Travel insurance
