The school sits in a four story, attractive Victorian period building. The foundations are medieval and it has an 18th century private walled garden for student use exclusively. There are 7 classrooms in winter and sometimes 9 in Summer. We have a games room, a Tudor-style recreational area, a small cafe, a free internet room, and general student resources. We are also only 2 minutes walk from the town centre with all its cafes, shops and ancient tourist sites. We are family owned and run and provide an incredibly friendly and supportive atmosphere. Many of our teachers have been with us a while and are highly trusted. As mentioned we have a beautiful and private 18th-century walled garden, full of flowers and climbing plants in Summer. There are garden tables and chairs and a marquee tent all of this for the students exclusively to relax and talk. It is always used when the sun is out and there are no excursions. We have a games room for students only. It has ping pong, table football and when requested billiards. This is always busy (when there are no excursions). Location: I don't know about other schools but almost all our host families are within walking distance of the school which itself is in the cente of the historic part of Canterbury, just 2 minutes walk from the cafes and shops.

WISE ENGLISH WARNBOROUGH COLLEGE is the language department of Warnborough College. We have been helping international students change and improve their lives by learning English since 1973. WISE English is located in beautiful and historic Canterbury, which is the perfect location for learning English. We have been teaching English successfully since 1973, both in England and internationally. Our teachers are friendly and helpful - we want to help you learn English quickly and effectively. We are specialists in teaching adults. Our courses can be combined with other fields like business, engineering, and science. Learners who want to improve their English for university can also do special courses to prepare for IELTS, Cambridge proficiency tests and TOEFL. We offer one-to-one teaching so that you get maximum attention. If you have limited time, we can design a fast-track programme for you. Our approach to teaching is very different to most other colleges. Our 45 years experience in teaching English has ensured that we can tailor the course to your needs and not simply follow a course book. On joining the college you will complete a number of assessments. These are used to create a unique, personalised learning programme. Your reading, writing and grammar skills will be developed as homework activities, with regular and individual feedback given from your tutor. This allows us to concentrate on listening, speaking and pronunciation in all classes – the skills all students demand. Few other colleges teach this way. We provide educational trips and many other optional activities all year round. These allow you to experience British culture through history, theatre, drama, literature and art. You will also meet British people and get to know local customs, traditions and language. Warnborough through its Warnborough Intensive School of English (WISE ENGLISH) department focuses on private individual lessons. This is fast-track learning and the programme is designed around your needs and interests.
Embassy has helped over half a million students to learn English. Some of them needed it for their job, some for their studies. Others just loved the language. But they all had one thing in common - they immersed themselves in an English-speaking country and learned a lot more than just grammar! You'll find Embassy schools in America, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. We offer the courses you need, from a short 'top-up' of your language skills to an intensive exam-focused class. We make our lessons enjoyable, because we believe that when you are having fun, you are learning even more. Our teachers are all qualified, experienced professionals who use a variety of techniques in the classroom: one moment you might be taking part in group discussions, the next, working in pairs or individually. Our students come from all around the world - you'll have the chance to meet and make friends with people from many different cultures, all speaking the common language of English. Our Canterbury summer school takes place at the main campus of the University of Kent, which is surrounded by lovely green lawns and woodland. There are plenty of shops, cafés and facilities on site for your convenience.

I really enjoyed my stay at St. Peters School. The afternoons were very informative. I liked my lessons with Katie. The grammarlessons were ok, but sometimes 3 hours were a bit too much in my opinion. The school facilities were quiet out of date... more
