The town of Colchester is the third largest community in the state of Vermont in the United States. It is located on Mallets Bay on Lake Champlain. Students enrolled in English school in Colchester will find that the town has great access to lake activities, the Green Mountains and the Burlington International Airport. With great access to the lake, visitors enjoy water sports like boating, fishing and swimming. The Green Mountains are popular for hiking and skiing. For a great way to learn about the Lake Champlain basin, be sure to visit the ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center. It is located in nearby Burlington and offers a range of exhibits. Also in Burlington, visitors might enjoy a visit to the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts. The center is home to an art gallery with rotating exhibits as well as performance venues where visitors can catch plays, the symphony and events like the Discover Jazz Festival. Students taking English courses in Colchester should be sure to check out the Church Street Marketplace while in the area. It is open daily, year round and has over 100 stores and restaurants for visitors to explore in a lovely historic setting. This open air mall is a favorite of visitors and residents alike. Our Intensive Course coordinates 20 lessons on our Main Course programme with 250 additional minutes of lessons which run on 4 afternoons. These afternoon lessons build language to help students communicate at lower language levels and give lots of communication practice to higher level learners.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an examination in academic English skills required by many universities and colleges and healthcare institutions. Additionally, applicants for Citizenship and certain types of visa are required to prove that their English is at a certain level and IELTS is a recognised way of doing this.
